Urban Development Ministers K N Nehru and Anbil Mahesh Poiya Mozhi today handed over 75 oxygen concentrates to the hospital management at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Trichy.
District Collector Sivarasu, Corporation Commissioner Sivasubramanian, Medical College Principal Dr Vanitha and Joint Director (Family Welfare) Dr Letsumi were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nehru said, “Under the arrangement of DMK youth secretary Udayanidhi Stalin, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poiyamozhi was receiving 150 oxygen concentrates worth Rs 1.50 lakh from his own funds.
Out of this, 75 concentrates have been provided to Government Hospital, Trichy and 75 each to Tanjore Government Hospital.
At present, there are 1,099 beds in The Government Hospital, Trichy. There are 175 beds empty. Oxygen beds are 743 out of 30 empty. An average of 200 patients are being treated here per day. Similarly, 200 people return home after treatment.
The number of patients has now started to decline from 1600 to 1700 and now the number of cases is declining considerably.
