Taylor Swift appears to be coming in Phoebe Bridgers as a guest for her upcoming album “Red (Taylor’s Version)” — not according to a press release, but according to a word puzzle the superstar posted on social media Thursday morning.
Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran also seem to be confirmed as guests. Sheeran’s entry was already known – he appeared on the original “Red” album and said in an interview recently that he had re-recorded his duet – but Stapleton joins Bridgers in the surprise department.
As Swift did prior to the release of “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” – the first of her complete remakes of her Big Machine catalog albums – the singer took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts with a video featuring what appears to be a random jumble. of letters for fans to decode. Embedded in that word salad are song titles and guests for the “Vault” bonus tracks, consisting of songs written over time but never released, coming out as brand new recordings. But this time, the seemingly random lines of letters weren’t in anagram form, but instead added up in a crossword puzzle.
Some clues were harder than others for Swifties to decode immediately. But Bridgers’ name? Swift didn’t make that too much of a challenge. When you take the whole series of letters that appear in the video clip and stack them from top to bottom, the letters in “Phoebe” are in the left column. Even clearer is that “Bridgers” run from left to right on the next line.

Stapleton’s name took a little longer to figure out; the letters in “Stapleton” appear backwards on the bottom line of the puzzle.
Also appearing in the puzzle are the words “Better” and “Man,” making it seem like fans will finally get Swift’s own version of “Better Man,” a song that became a No. 1 hit when she gave it to Little Big City. cover in 2016.
Likewise, the word “Babe” appears, a likely tip that Swift fans will hear her record a song with that title that she gave Sugarland in 2018 to record (and add her own background vocals to).
Swift’s only non-puzzling comments on the post read: “*presses post* … *cackles maniacally* … Level: Casually cruel in the name of being honest.”
“Red (Taylor’s Version)” was announced in June and is set to release on November 19. So far, Swift has only released information on this that it will feature 30 songs and that it would feature a 10-minute track, presumably the legendary 10-minute version of fan favorite “All Too Well.”
Just in case there was any doubt about that last track, the puzzle contains all the words in “All Too Well Ten Minute Version”.
Coinciding with the word puzzle release, a CD version of the upcoming set was placed for pre-order; promised amid the packaging is the lyrics for nine previously unrecorded Vault tracks.

Since Sheeran is known to re-record the original duet he did with Swift for the album “Red”, “Everything Has Changed”, and the other clues in the crossword relate to the nine previously unheard additions of “Vault”, it is It’s not clear if Sheeran might have contributed to one or more of those songs as well, or if it’s just referring to his presence on the album in general.
