NEW DELHI: The government on Thursday reiterated that its supply of Made in India vaccines to other countries would continue despite the rising number of cases in the country.
“Supply of Made in India vaccines would continue, taking into account our domestic requirements,” said Arindam Bagchi, MEA spokesperson.
Bagchi also said there is “no ban on the export of vaccines.”
India has exported many million doses to many difference countries across the globe as part of its “Vaccine Maitri” initiative.
The export of vaccine has come under criticims recently owing to the second wave of Covid cases in country with states such as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand claiming shortage of vaccine supply from Centre.
Health minister Harsh Vardhan responded to these claims on Wednesday and today as well, saying there is no vaccine shortage anywhere in the country.
