Facebook-owned photo sharing app Instagram has expanded the Guides feature to everyone. The feature that was first introduced in May is said to make it easier for Instagram users to find, curate and share the products, places and posts they want.
“When we first introduced Guides in May, we worked with experts and creators to create guides focused on well-being tips. Like how to look after yourself, maintain a connection with others, or manage anxiety and grief during COVID-19. After seeing the community’s response and requests for increased availability, we’re expanding Guides to everyone and making them easier to create,” said Instagram in a blog post.
Instagram users will be able to find Guides on Profile and share them across Stories and in DMs. Specific Product Guides will come with support to be featured on Instagram Shop, a new section that was recently added on the app’s homepage.
To recall, last week, Instagram announced that it is adding new tabs on the home screen of its app — a Reels tab and a Shop tab.
Both these new tabs are being added on the home screen are said to be done to make it easier for a user to discover new content as well as to shop through the app.
Both Reels and Shopping are two features that the app has been promoting for the last couple of months.
