India are scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests on their tour of Australia, starting with the first ODI on December 27.
Shastri posted photos alongside Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan and Shardul Thakur and captioned the post: “Great to get back to business”.
After the three-match ODI series, the two teams will battle in the T20Is, followed by the Test series.
Kohli will just be playing the first Test of the series and then head back home after being granted paternity leave by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

On Tuesday, the Indian team had started preparing for the Test series as Kohli posted a video of batting against the red-ball while simulating a Test match to get ready to face the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.
The Indian squad for all three formats had arrived in Australia last week and now every player has started practising in the nets.
During the 2018-19 series, India managed to record their first Test series win on Australian soil. The Kohli-led side won the series 2-1 and now would be looking to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
The first Test will commence from December 17 at the Adelaide Oval. It will be a day-night contest.
The four-match series will be a part of the World Test Championship.
