MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating after a novel piece of art work was stolen from a vendor at the Art Fair on the Square over the weekend.
Police say officers had been flagged down by the vendor on Saturday. She needed to report the theft of a $1400 bronze statue of Humpty Dumpty sitting on a rest room she had known as “Dumpty Humpty.”
The vendor, who traveled to the truthful from out of state, reported seeing two males lingering round the space of her stand whereas she was organising throughout the early-morning hours on Saturday. When she left the stand, the males had been gone — and so was the statue.
Police had been capable of finding surveillance video from the space of the males leaving the sq. with the statue. They’re now asking for the public’s assist in figuring out the two males. At least one suspect is believed to be a scholar dwelling downtown who lately turned 21 years outdated.
