Day Of The Dead Season 2: Has It Been Renewed, Canceled At Syfy? – todayssnews

Day of the Dead season 2: Has it been renewed, canceled at Syfy?

As we prepare for tonight’s finale at Syfy, now feels like the right time to ask: is there going to be one Day of the Dead extend season 2? Or should we prepare for the end of the road?

The first order of business here, of course, is to see where things stand now: Syfy has yet to order more episodes of the series. Is there still potential for that? Absolute. For starters, we know they’re more than interested in telling zombie-related stories. Just remember how many years they had Z Nation in the air! This is also a series inspired by George A. Romero’s masterpiece, and not many have done zombies better over the years.

So what could be stopping it? It’s simple: the reviews. This show barely gets a rating of 0.1 in the 18-49 demographic and just under 220,000 live viewers per episode. There are, of course, a number of factors that hurt it. First and foremost, it’s hard to find success on cable these days, and it’s even harder when you’re on Syfy. We are years away from the network’s heyday and we’re starting to think that the network has really hurt itself over the years by canceling many much-loved series before their time is right. It has diluted a lot of confidence and now makes it so much harder for them.

Another problem here is simply that zombie-related entertainment isn’t as much in demand as it was 15 years ago. Blame The living Dead as a franchise for a good part of it. Because there are so many shows in this world, there is less need for others – although we still claim that Day of the Dead is very different from anything on AMC.

Do you want to see one Day of the Dead season 2 extension now at Syfy?

Be sure to share it now in the attached comments! Once you’ve done that, remember to stay close as well – there are other updates on the horizon and of course we don’t want you to miss any. (Photo: Syfy.)
