Coronavirus: Here’s how can you tell if your headache is triggered by COVID-19 | The Times of India

According to a report published in the journal Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews, headache has been identified as the fifth most common COVID-19 symptom after fever, cough, myalgia, and dyspnea. The study also noted the prevalence of headache in around 6.5 percent to 53 percent of COVID patients.

A normal headache and a headache caused by COVID-19 may feel the same. However, the headaches caused by the deadly virus can go from having mild effects to a sudden rise in the impact on your health. Apart from that, it may respond poorly to common pain relievers and may not subside, even after resorting to other remedies.

The research also notes, “The prevalence of headaches in COVID-19 infection seems to be underestimated in terms of variety and clinical description because of the current focus has likely been directed toward severe respiratory patients.”
